In the salt, essential nutrients for animal health
Coarse salt is the main source of chlorine and sodium for the nutrition of cattle. Licking salt in the trough the animal gets the chlorine needed for digestion and to keep sodium and potassium balance in the body. Salt feeds bacteria of the cattle’s bowel, enhancing fattening. Sodium participates of the process of regulation of the central nervous system, besides controlling the basic acid level to eliminate toxins through urine and dregs. Salt is also the ideal vehicle for the absorption of other minerals, like phosphorus, calcium, copper, zinc, cobalt and iodine, that can be added to salt.
