It happens from August and January, the dry season of the salt producing region.
Salt is harvested mechanically by harvesting machines and transported in containers hauled by tractors to the washing facilities.

 The washing process uses saturated and controlled brine, which avoids the solution of the salt and reduces impurities.
The washed salt is then centrifuged and carried to the processing units or to the seven-meter high and 400 meters long stock pile by conveyor belts.
